I was born and raised here in Hopkinsville Kentucky. Growing up with a mother who has been a Veterinarian Technician for most of my life I learned I had a huge love for animals very early on! I remember being a kid and anytime I would go to my moms work I always begged her to take me to the area where they kept the dogs so I could pet them! In 2020 I started working as a “Kennel assistant” at a vet office and my Job was to care for the hospital patients that stayed overnight. Although it was a difficult job for someone with a big heart I realized how much I loved caring for them! To me it was more than just doing the basics (potty breaks, cleaning, administering medications). I knew these dogs were scared being away from their homes and their families and I wanted to do everything I could to make them feel at home and as comfortable as possible! In 2021 I started working here at You Dirty Dog and immediately fell in love. Being able to work alongside other people who also share that love has been amazing! The best part of my job is definitely seeing the dog’s demeanor change from the time they come in to just a couple of days with our amazing staff! One of the things I love the most is seeing the boarding/daycare dog’s running in so excited for their time with us that they forget to say goodbye to their family! Creating relationships with all the dogs has been very rewarding from the very beginning!
